See what real end-to-end UX research looks like (UX Outloud Apprenticeship Live Readout on Feb 24)

Hey Reader,

The UX Outloud Apprenticeship Program is wrapping up, and I want to invite you to see what this cohort has been working on.

On Tuesday, February 24, we are hosting a live apprenticeship research readout where our apprentices will share the outcomes of a real-world, end-to-end UX research case study they participated in from start to finish.

This was not a hypothetical project or a classroom exercise. It was real research, tied to a real product, with real decisions at stake.

This cohort partnered with Tii (The Influence Index), a data intelligence platform working to become the leading database for the creator economy. The apprentices collaborated closely with the founder to help shape a product designed to connect creator-led businesses with investors and new opportunities.

Over the course of the program, the apprentices:

💬 Met directly with the founder to understand Tii’s mission, product vision, and business goals

🧩 Scoped research questions and defined success metrics for the MVP

📝 Developed a research plan that connected hypotheses to clear impact statements

🤝 Worked together to bridge language and data gaps between creators and investors

✨ Participated in design sprints, brainstorming, and virtual co-design sessions

✨ Took turns leading and facilitating different parts of the research process

The live readout will walk through what they uncovered, how their thinking evolved, and how insights were translated into recommendations grounded in both user needs and business context.

This is the kind of experience that teaches you how to succeed in a UX research role. Not just how to follow steps, but how to think critically, collaborate with stakeholders, and make decisions when things are not perfectly clear.

It is also the kind of experience most schools and courses do not show you. If you want to see what applied, end-to-end UX research actually looks like in practice, I would love for you to join us.

Join us for the live apprenticeship research readout on Tuesday, February 24!

Come to learn. Come to observe. Come to see what meaningful research experience really looks like.

Warmly,

Eniola Abioye

Hey Reader, Quick update on Research Crit 📣 The first event of 2026 is now happening on March 18 at 5 PM PST. We originally shared a potential date of March 11, but we’ve moved it one week later and I’m excited to officially lock in the new date. We’re relaunching with a special edition that feels especially important right now, all about: Decoding Performance Reviews: A Roadmap to Your Next Promotion Career progression is not as linear or clearly defined as it used to be. Roles evolve...

Hey Reader, The difference between a script and a story is perspective. And here’s something I don’t think we say enough in UX: Researchers are not meant to be neutral narrators. Your methods should be rigorous. Your analysis should be grounded in evidence. But your delivery? That requires point of view. 🧠 Too many research readouts feel like slide tours. Information-heavy. Easily forgotten. Not inspiring the decision makers in the room. A readout is not just where you share findings. It’s...

Hey Reader, Guess what?! The UX Outloud Research Crit series is officially back. And this pause? It was very intentional. I took time to step back and really listen to what this community has been navigating. Layoffs. Reorgs. Shifting expectations. “Do more with less” energy. And I kept hearing the same thing from folks,“I’m working hard… but I don’t know what actually leads to a promotion anymore.” So we’re starting off with a theme that feels especially important right now: Decoding...
