Seattle UXR folks đź‘€ This is one conference you can't miss on May 28!

Hey Reader,

We’re officially in conference season again, and honestly, this year feels different. I'm loving the side conversations, the people I randomly sit next to, and the spontaneous idea sessions that have stuck with me. Almost every conversation I’ve been having lately keeps coming back to the same thing:

How AI is changing the way we research, build, collaborate, and make decisions.

Not all conferences hit the same, but one that I'm really excited about is Crafted by UserTesting!

It's happening on May 28 at Victory Hall in Seattle, Washington.

And the lineup is one I’m genuinely looking forward to. They’ve got speakers from McDonald’s, Netflix, CVS, Yum! Brands, and Cisco, leaders who are not just shaping the conversation but deciding what comes next in our space.

Crafted is focused on the topics many of us are actively navigating right now:

✔️ the future of UX research in AI-native teams

✔️ scaling influence through shared understanding

✔️ practical workshops for researchers, designers, & product teams

✔️ storytelling and communication as strategic skills

✔️ building better cross-functional collaboration

✔️ staying grounded in human insight while workflows evolve

Some sessions that I would make sure to see:

🔹“Evolve Your UX Research Strategy to Win in an AI World”

🔹“Design Research is Glue: Scaling Influence Through Shared Understanding”

🔹“Building an AI-Native Team: 5 Lessons So Far”

If you’re in Seattle or nearby, it’s definitely worth checking out.

UserTesting shared a promo code for 100% off the workshops: UXOUTLOUD

I guide researchers in building a strong narrative and employing an 8-step strategy in starting their UXR careers. My speciality is constructing tailored transition strategies taking into account the experience you have to leverage and the niche that are targeting for your next role. I take a hands-on approach to revamping your professional materials including: 📢 A resume that emphasizes your work and organizational impact 📢 A LinkedIn profile that demonstrates your value to UX hiring managers and recruiters 📢 A UXR portfolio that details your strategic research approach and case studies that showcase your experience I also work as a Lead UX Researcher and UXR Manager at Meta - and my background happens to be in biology and healthcare. Take it from me, someone who doesn't have the most "traditional" UXR background, you can apply people research skills from any and every industry and niche to UX. It all comes down to creating a strong narrative and making your skillset crystal clear. If you're ready to stop applying to UXR roles endlessly online and actually gain traction landing interviews and job offers, apply to work with me at bit.ly/uxrcareeraccelerator! Tell me about your background and what you're looking for in your next career move. I'm happy to answer any questions you have and figure out if we're a good fit on a free consultation call. 💚 Tap the "subscribe" button to hear tips and strategies for pivoting into UXR! Hey Reader, Quick question for you: Have you ever wrapped a round of interviews and thought… “why aren’t these insights hitting the way I expected?” It’s not bad conversations or bad questions. Just… something missing. A lot of the time, it comes down to this: You didn’t talk to the right people. And that’s the part of research that doesn’t get enough attention. Participant recruitment gets treated like a logistics task…when it’s actually shaping everything that comes after. Who you recruit →...

Hey Reader, If you’re going to Learners Research Week in SF next week…I’ll see you there. I’ve seen it and lived it so many times. You show up to a conference with good intentions, sit through sessions, maybe introduce yourself to a couple of people… and then you leave thinking, “That was cool…” But nothing concrete that actually pushes you forward happened. No real connections. No follow-ups. No moments that change how you think or work. Not because you did anything wrong, but because...

Hey Reader, Quick update on this one. Our upcoming collab with Userlytics has been moved from May 7 → May 14 due to a scheduling shift. Updated event details: 📅 May 14 ⏰ 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET Now that that’s out of the way, I want to remind you why this session is worth showing up for. This is really about something I see come up all the time with researchers: You can have strong work, solid projects, and even be a great communicator. But when it’s time to talk through your work in an interview,...
