Pull up with us at Research Week next week in SF(May 11–13) ✨

Hey Reader,

If you’re going to Learners Research Week in SF next week…I’ll see you there.

I’ve seen it and lived it so many times. You show up to a conference with good intentions, sit through sessions, maybe introduce yourself to a couple of people… and then you leave thinking, “That was cool…” But nothing concrete that actually pushes you forward happened.

No real connections. No follow-ups. No moments that change how you think or work. Not because you did anything wrong, but because conferences are not designed to create connections for you by default.

You have to do that part intentionally. That’s exactly why we’re approaching this event differently.

The UX Outloud crew is pulling up May 11–13, and we’re turning this into a real community experience, not just an event you attend. ✨

Here’s what that actually looks like in practice:

Before sessions
We’re linking up so you’re not walking into rooms alone. It genuinely shifts your energy when you already know someone.

🍽️ Midday resets
Instead of eating lunch solo or scrolling your phone, we’re grabbing food together and processing what we’re learning in real time while it’s still fresh.

🧠 Real-time reflection
The biggest gap I see is people consume insights but don’t talk through them. That’s where the real clarity comes from.

🤝 Natural networking
No awkward “so what do you do?” energy. Just conversations that build naturally over shared experiences.

📸 Optional content + visibility
If you’re trying to build your voice in UXR, this is a great moment to create and share while everything is fresh. I’ll be in my content bag and would love to include some friendly faces too.

If you’re new to UXR, coming solo, or just want to feel more grounded walking into a space like this… this was created with you in mind 💛

The event is happening at Fort Mason in San Francisco, with talks, workshops, and sessions all week. But honestly, the most valuable part of any conference is the people you experience it with.

So if you’re going, just reply to this email or send me a message. I’ll make sure you’re looped into the group we’re putting together.

And if you want to check out the full event details, you can do that here:

Hope to see you there!

Hey Reader, Quick question for you: Have you ever wrapped a round of interviews and thought… “why aren’t these insights hitting the way I expected?” It’s not bad conversations or bad questions. Just… something missing. A lot of the time, it comes down to this: You didn’t talk to the right people. And that’s the part of research that doesn’t get enough attention. Participant recruitment gets treated like a logistics task…when it’s actually shaping everything that comes after. Who you recruit →...

Hey Reader, Quick update on this one. Our upcoming collab with Userlytics has been moved from May 7 → May 14 due to a scheduling shift. Updated event details: 📅 May 14 ⏰ 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET Now that that’s out of the way, I want to remind you why this session is worth showing up for. This is really about something I see come up all the time with researchers: You can have strong work, solid projects, and even be a great communicator. But when it’s time to talk through your work in an interview,...

eniola watering some plants and text that says monthly uxr roundup opportunities

Hey Reader, I hope you’re doing well. I’ve been seeing more roles start to open up again across UXR, and I wanted to bring you this month’s roundup. As always, every role here comes from teams I trust or was shared directly through my network, so you’re looking at real opportunities that are actively hiring right now. As you go through this, I want you to look at it a little differently. Not just as a list of jobs to apply to, but as a way to understand what teams are actually looking for...
